Motivation to exercise can be hard to muster, but as the days are growing longer, now's the ideal time to venture outdoors and get active.

Forget cardio is hard-io and don your best activewear to hit the streets for the cheapest and easiest way to get fit – running. Whether you conquer a 5K before breakfast, or you run slower than a herd of turtles stampeding through drying cement, going for a jogwill ease stress, give you a dose of ‘me’ time and leave you with a ‘runner's high’ (it’s not a myth!).

Step away from the TV and into the rhythm of running with Coach to 5K This award-winning app boasts more than 4 million users, all finding success in the eight-week program to get into shape – one stride at a time!

If running flat out doesn’t sound like your idea of a good time, this program consists of alternating walk/run intervals to help you build up to your 5km target. Over the weeks, the run segments gradually increase, with the human coach telling you when to run or walk.

From sprints to yoga, Runkeeper will help you discover the joy of exercise. With over 45 million users, Runkeeper will turn your phone into a GPS, tracking your jogs. Dedicated to bringing the fun and the motivation you want into your workout routine, this app monitors your pace, speed, route distance, elevation and calorie burn for any fitness activity - including cycling. You can follow pre-planned routes, try out a training plan, or create your own with audio coaching.
