Friday 20 May 2016

Smoothies are the superfood breakfast of choice, from fitness gurus to the time poor.

They are portable, healthy, easy to make and even quicker to consume.

But smoothies sometimes get a bad rap for lacking an element most people consider pretty essential: taste!

To help you get on the smoothie-band wagon, we’ve found some sblended recipes that will leave your tastebuds wanting more.

It's time to get smooth and start blending!

Berry Oat Smoothie

This berry delicious smoothie is perfect at any time of day. Plus, adding fibre-filled oats will keep you feeling fuller for longer - meaning there’ll be no reaching for the biscuits later…

  • ½ cup rolled oats
  • 1 cup milk (almond, soy, low fat… choose your favourite!)
  • ½ cup frozen berries
  • 3 tsp honey (to taste)
  • 1/3 cup plain Greek yoghurt
  • ¼ cup ice

Place all ingredients in a blender. Blend until the mixture is smooth. Taste, adding more honey if it needs to be sweeter or more milk if it is too thick.
