About this Opportunity  

We’re looking for bright and bubbly kids holiday program instructors to create remarkable sports and activities-based experiences for children on the Kids Holiday Camp running the 24th June to 5th July. We need team members who are energetic, hands-on, and caring, and whose values align with the UQ Sport values.

Ideally you will be studying primary education in sports or physical education, with a passion for engaging kids in physical activity and delivering sports based programs.

In this short term role you will deliver multi-activity sports based holiday program to children aged 6-12, ensuring a fun, safe and engaging environment is provided to all participants. Opportunities available to stay on at UQ Sport for each holiday program.

It is a requirement for this role that you are: 

  • Available for Group Interviews on Wednesday 29th May from 4pm onwards. This is the only interview session – if you are unavailable for this date you will not be considered for the role.
  • Available for UQ Sport Induction 10th June  (9am – 12noon only)
  • Available for on job training on 12th June from 4pm onwards
  • Ready and available for shifts between 24th June – 5th July (Shift work, not required to be available all day, each day)

To be successful in the role you will have:  

  • Current first aid and CPR Certificate
  • Current Blue Card

ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY

Our Aquatic Centre is expanding its crew of lifeguards. We’re looking for an energetic and safety conscious lifeguard for various shifts 8 or more hours per week as required that cover from opening at 4am through to centre close at 9pm, to supervise our customers and ensure their safety at all times whilst using our Aquatic Centre.

In this role you will:

  • Supervise all users of the Aquatic Centre ensuring high standards for safety and presentation
  • Opening/closing and preparing the venue for use
  • Be responsible for effectively and promptly responding to emergency situations
  • Conduct rostered pool and water quality tests to ensure full compliance with health and safety standards and/or regulations

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • High work ethic, commitment to professional presentation and the ability to maintain an appropriate level of fitness throughout employment.
  • Previous experience as a lifeguard is highly regarded
  • Pool Lifeguard Certificate

  • Monday – Thursday 5:15am – 1:15pm
  • Friday 5:15am – 10:15am 

This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone who is highly motivated, outgoing and energetic with exellent communicaiton skills.

In this role you will:

  • Responsible for fitness centre opening procedures, plus presentation and cleaning of the venue and facilities
  • Answering phones, emails and in person customer enquiries  & providing information about UQ Sport products, memberships and services
  • Point of sale duties for the shop including cash handling
  • Selling and restocking retial products
  • Equipment setup and pack down as required.
  • Assisting with some basic administration duties.

To be successful in the role you will have:

  • First Aid certificate
  • CPR certificate
  • Previous experience in Customer Service environment desirable
  • Computer literate – previous experience with membership sales/cash handling/POS systems highly regarded

About This Opportunity

UQ Sport has two access and inclusion programs that aim to assist clients of varied abilities who aspire to swim competitively or become better swimmers overall.

The UQ Can Swim Program is an entry-level program and runs for 9 weeks (Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) during Queensland school terms. UQ Can Swim classes are 30 minute one-on-one lessons.

Reporting to the Access and Inclusion Swimming Coordinator as well as the Aquatic Program Manager you will ideally be available on Saturdays and/or Sundays, and open to picking up other class times during the week.

In this role you will: 

  • Assist with class setup and pack down.
  • Teaching one-on-one clients with a range of disabilities
  • Be flexible in your teaching style according to the characteristic of the client
  • Have the possibility to increase your working hours with the growing learn to swim program

To be successful in this role you will have: 

  • Current First aid and CPR certificate
  • Working with Children (QLD Blue Card)
  • AUSTSWIM Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety (or equivalent Swim Australia qualification)
  • AUSTSWIM Teacher of Aquatics Access and Inclusion (or equivalent Swim Australia qualification) (required qualification to recieve uplifted hourly rate).
  • Interest in disability, Parasport, access and inclusion teaching and programs
  • Disability worker screening card (QLD Yellow Card) – Desirable

About this Opportunity

We’re looking for multiple friendly and enthusiastic Food and Beverage Attendants to work a variety of events and support service at the UQ Sport managed Cafe – BrewPoint.

If you are passionate about providing exceptional levels of customer service and have previous canteen, barista, bar and events setup/packdown experience we want to hear from you.

In this role you will:

  • Assist with event setup and packdown
  • Assist with opening and closing of facilities
  • Provide food, beverage and coffee production services
  • Venue and facilitiy cleaning and ensuring excellent presentation
  • Undertaking general customer service duties

To be successful in the role you will have:

  • RSA Certification
  • Food Safety Certification (desirable)
  • First Aid and CPR Certificates
