The Role

UQ Sport is seeking a detail-oriented HRIS/Payroll Officer to join our small and friendly HR team.

Reporting to the HR Manager, this role is responsible for the day to day management of HR Information Systems (HRIS), running the fortnightly payroll function, and providing general support to the HR team as required.

This rewarding role will see you working on improving integration across a number of parallel HRIS or payroll systems.

Duties and responsibilities

In this role you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the HRIS applications across the employee lifecycle ensuring accuracy and data integrity across parallel systems. Your system experience will see you effectively providing system support, including employee data management, systems training and communication, and system optimisation.

In this role, you will take ownership of end-to-end payroll processing, ensuring compliance with applicable legislation and best practises.

You will also provide overall support to the HR function and assist with the administration of recruitment activities, learning and development initiatives, and the delivery of all staff social events.

Qualifications, skills and experience

You will have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in end-to-end payroll processing, preferably handling high volume payroll (300+ employees) and possess a minimum Cert IV in Human Resources or related discipline. High-level proficiency with Excel and HRIS is required while previous exposure to Sage and/or RITEQ (time attendance system) will put you ahead of the rest.

You will be process-driven and thrive on structure with an excellent eye for detail. You are proactive in identifying system/process improvements and display a service-oriented attitude. Success will be achieved through your excellent organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines. Your exceptional interpersonal skills and welcoming personality will see you integrate well with our team and culture.
