Teams are selected by National Sporting Organisations, in conjunction with UniSport, Australia to represent Australia in World University Championships and World Universiade events.
The Universiades (the name is a combination of the words ‘university’ and ‘Olympiad’) are multi-sport events resembling the Olympic Games, and are held in odd-numbered years. The World University Championships are single sport events held in even-numbered years.
Staged in various cities throughout the world, the events provide a great opportunity for elite-level student-athletes to compete on the international stage.
