ECG Analysis and Interpretation

This unit is suitable for those who wish to gain knowledge and confidence in interpreting 12 lead ECGs and care for clients who require cardiac monitoring. It is suitable for any student entering a position in a hospital setting (nursing, cardiac scientist, anaesthetics, medical, paramedics, exercise physiologists, physiologists).

It is of high importance that students entering a clinical role in a hospital setting be required to expand their knowledge and skills in the area of ECG performance and analysis to assure quality health service to the public and private sector.

Early detection of both life threatening and abnormal arrhythmias through accurately performed and analysed ECGs, is vital for treating patients and reporting anomalies or emergencies in a timely manner. This will result in a more efficient and effective health service provided to the patient.

Course dates

Classes run Tuesdays 5:00pm – 8:00pm, with the next course running over Semester 2 from 24 July to 30 October 2018.

Payment for this course is due by the 18 July 2018.

Courses are usually run Semester 1, Semester 2 and Summer Semester each year, depending on interest.
