We're seeking a technically strong Management Accountant to join our friendly finance team. This role will offer exceptional diversity and growth opportunities. The Management Accountant is responsible for ensuring the collection, processing and validation of financial information in an accurate and timely manner, so that it can be used in the strategic development and decision-making processes of the organisation. The role also looks after the accounts receivable function and provides support to the rest of the finance team as required. The position would be ideal for a person studying for CA or CPA looking to further their experience in the not-for-profit sector.
Reporting to the Finance Manager your core responsibilities will include delivery of effective duties including:
  • Accounts receivable activities including debt collection
  • Month-end duties including: accruals, prepayments, petty cash, journals, payroll tax lodgement, balance sheet reconciliations and GST journals 
  • Quarterly duties including: assistance with preparation of quarterly BAS including FBT, stocktakes and quarterly reports 
You’ll provide monthly management reports, review monthly performance against budget with commentary and take corrective action as required. You’ll be involved in end of year financial processes including financial year end close, providing assistance during the preparation and audit process. 
You’re a degree qualified accountant with minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role. You’re a friendly and collaborative team player willing to pitch in and help your team when required. You have demonstrated proficiency with accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills. You’ll display strong attention to detail and have previous experience in accounts receivable and month end processes. Your well-developed communication and people skills will see you working with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, as well as providing training and support on financial procedures to staff. Previous experience using SAP Business One will put you ahead of the rest.
