The UQ Sport Academy, through its partnership with UQ’s School of Human Movement Studies, is in the unique position of being able to offer state-of-the-art sport science testing and analysis services to athletes and coaches throughout the sporting community. A range of services including both field and laboratory testing are available and are delivered by highly qualified staff.

What are the options?

Combined VO2 Max Testing and Anaerobic Threshold Testing

A VO2 Max test helps determine an individual’s cardiovascular capacity by assessing how efficiently oxygen is transported to working muscles during endurance exercise. This test can be used to monitor the effectiveness of an athlete's training program and assists in making recommendations that will help maximise the athlete’s performance. VO2 Max can be determined during running, cycling or rowing.

We use a lactate test to measure an individual’s anaerobic threshold. The lactate test allows individuals to take all of the guesswork out of their training. This test allows athletes to understand their limits and get the most out of their performance before reaching anaerobic threshold during endurance events.

The combined option is the UQ Sport Academy's own test which includes both VO2 Max and anaerobic threshold testing. This unique test combines the benefits from both of the above testing methods.

Fitness Assessments

Want to know how fit you really are? Our fitness assessments give you the opportunity to assess your fitness level by measuring body composition, strength, flexibility and cardiovascular fitness. Our trainers will discuss with you what level of fitness is appropriate for a person of your age, height and weight and advise you on what you need to do to reach your fitness goals.

Appointments are one hour in duration and must be made 24 hours in advance and payment made at time of booking.
