Smoothies are the superfood breakfast of choice, from fitness gurus to the time poor.

They are portable, healthy, easy to make and even quicker to consume.

But smoothies sometimes get a bad rap for lacking an element most people consider pretty essential: taste!

To help you get on the smoothie-band wagon, we’ve found some sblended recipes that will leave your tastebuds wanting more.

It’s time to get smooth and start blending!

BERRY OAT SMOOTHIE

This berry delicious smoothie is perfect at any time of day. Plus, adding fibre-filled oats will keep you feeling fuller for longer – meaning there’ll be no reaching for the biscuits later…

  • ½ cup rolled oats
  • 1 cup milk (almond, soy, low fat… choose your favourite!)
  • ½ cup frozen berries
  • 3 tsp honey (to taste)
  • 1/3 cup plain Greek yoghurt
  • ¼ cup ice

METHOD

Place all ingredients in a blender. Blend until the mixture is smooth. Taste, adding more honey if it needs to be sweeter or more milk if it is too thick.

BANANA AND ALMOND SMOOTHIE

Go bananas with this delicious banana and almond smoothie! It’s like dessert in a glass…. minus the guilt!

  • 1 frozen ripe banana, peeled and diced
  • 2/3 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • 1/3 cup plain Greek yoghurt
  • 1 ½ tbsp almond butter
  • 1 tbsp ground flaxseed meal
  • 1 tsp honey

HOW TO MAKE

Place all ingredients into a blender. Blend until smooth.
