Sporting Scholarships

Since 1990, The University of Queensland (UQ) - in partnership with Alumni Friends of The University of Queensland Inc. and UQ Sport - has been offering sporting scholarships to assist outstanding athletes balance their studies with the demands of elite-level sport.

Applications for 2014 Sporting Scholarships will be open on 1st August 2013

 

Sporting Scholarships Available

Sport has been an integral part of student life at the University of Queensland since its doors opened a century ago. We are proud to offer the following sporting scholarships and athlete support programs:

Eligibility Criteria

  • Free academic tutoring
  • Free access to the full range of UQ Sport health and fitness facilities
  • Free athlete workshops in sports nutrition, recovery and fatigue, athlete preparation, peaking for competition, and more
  • Academic liaison and support
  • Induction program for first year students
  • Access to the athlete lounge
  • Additional funds for athletes to access sports psychology, sports massage, physiotherapy, podiatry, nutrition consultations and strength and conditioning programs
  • Nutritional cooking classes
