The sporting options are endless at the world-class UQ Synthetic Fields Precinct! Opened in 2016, the $24 million facility features an International Hockey Federation (FIH)-approved sand-filled turf (Field 4), as well as FIH Multisport and FIFA 1 Star-certified pitch (Field 5), each capable of hosting an array of activities – from touch football and soccer to lacrosse and ultimate disc.
The pitches also feature in-built shock pads to help reduce impact and injury. Plus, each field can be subdivided into thirds, allowing for up to six sports to be played at any one time!
Overlooking the playing fields is Building 33, a central hub that caters to athletes, supporters and function guests. The refurbished three-storey building features six changing rooms, First Aid and site offices, as well as ViewPoint – a top-floor viewing area and terrace capable of hosting up to 120 guests.
