ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY

UQ Sport is seeking applications from an enthusiastic Customer Service Officer to work within our busy Fitness Centre based at the University of Queensland.

This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone who is highly motivated, outgoing and energetic with exellent communicaiton skills.

In this role you will:

  • Responsible for open and close, plus presentation and cleaning of the venue and facilities
  • Answering phones, emails and in person customer enquiries  & providing information about UQ Sport products, memberships and services
  • Point of sale duties for the shop including cash handling
  • Venue presentation and cleaning requirements, restocking retial products, equipment setup and pack down as required.
  • Assisting with some basic administration duties.

To be successful in the role you will have:

  • First Aid certificate
  • CPR certificate
  • Blue Card
  • Previous experience in Customer Service environment desirable
  • Available for opening shifts Tuesday – Friday starting 5:15am and full shift Saturday 6:45am – 4:15pm.

Learn to Swim Instructor – Access and Inclusion

About This Opportunity

UQ Sport has two access and inclusion programs that aim to assist clients of varied abilities who aspire to swim competitively or become better swimmers overall.

The UQ Can Swim Program is an entry-level program and runs for 9 weeks (Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) during Queensland school terms. UQ Can Swim classes are 30 minute one-on-one lessons.

The UQ Para and Adaptive Swimming is a one hour squad that runs every Sunday and involves swimmers who have been promoted from the UQ Can Swim program.

Reporting to the Access and Inclusion Swimming Coordinator as well as the Aquatic Program Manager you will ideally be available on Saturdays and/or Sundays, and open to picking up other class times during the week. 10 hours + per week.

In this role you will: 

  • Assist with class setup and pack down.
  • Teaching one-on-one clients with a range of disabilities
  • Be flexibile in your teaching style according to the characteristic of the client
  • Have the possibility to increase your working hours with the growing learn to swim program

To be successful in this role you will have: 

  • Current First aid and CPR certificate
  • Working with Children (QLD Blue Card)
  • AUSTSWIM Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety (or equivalent Swim Australia qualification)

We are currently seeking for a personable and enthusiastic group fitness instructor that can work well in a team environment.

You will have a high work ethic and a commitment to professional presentation.This is a unique opportunity for a Group Fitness Instructor to build the group fitness program and earn more by providing Personal Training to the UQ Sport clientelle.

In this role you will:

  • Develop and deliver quality, fun and inspiring group fitness classes to the UQ Sport customers
  • Provide and promote personal training sessions
  • Ensure the health and safety of all the customers and visitors into UQ Sport venues

To be successful in the role you will have:

  • Available for early morning classes and PT sessions from 5am
  • Cert IV or GEL in Fitness
  • First Aid & CPR Certificates
  • Pool Lifeguard (desireable)
  • Additional qualifications including Yoga, Zumba etc are highly desireable and will add to your group fitness program offerings
  • Proven level of fitness appropriate for group fitness classes and personal trainign

Reporting to the Competitions Coordinator, our Sports Officials and Convenors are responsible for the safe delivery of sporting fixtures in accordance with the rules and regulations of each individual sport.

We are currently seeking candidates to officiate and convene the following sports:

  • Outdoor Soccer

As a Sports Official you will:

  • have previous experience in a similar role umpiring or refereeing your chosen sport
  • have demonstrated knowledge and understanding of sport specific rules
  • be personable and resilient, with excellent communications skills.

Having a sport specific officiating qualification will put you ahead of the rest and make you eligible for a higher pay rate.
