We’re looking for an experienced and driven Elite Athlete Program Manager to join our Student Services team. In this key leadership role, you will oversee the development and delivery of the university’s sporting scholarship and elite athlete programs, ensuring our student-athletes receive the best support to balance their academic and athletic ambitions.
We are seeking someone who is passionate about sports and athlete development, with proven experience in high-performance environments. You will have a strategic mindset, strong leadership skills, and the ability to foster relationships with a range of stakeholders, both within the university and the broader sporting community.

– Lead the development and delivery of UQ’s elite athlete and scholarship programs.

– Oversee the wellbeing of student-athletes and manage funding initiatives in line with the budget.

– Tertiary qualifications in sport, education, psychology, or business-related areas.
– Mental Health First Aid Certificate and First Aid & CPR certifications.
– Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role within a high-performance sport environment.
– Knowledge of University Sport funding programs and Elite Athlete Education Network (EAEN) principles.
– Strong leadership, planning, and organizational skills with attention to detail.
– Excellent communication skills and experience delivering workshops to athletes.

We are looking for energetic Strength and Conditioning Coaches to help clients enhance their overall fitness and develop specific skills or improve sports performance.
You need strong communication skills and the ability to understand the unique needs of each client. A passion for Strength and Conditioning is essential, along with the ability to inspire and push athletes beyond their current limits. Adaptability and quick thinking to adjust sessions on the fly are key to success.
– Coordinate and deliver S&C sessions for clients of all ages and skill levels
– Design strength, power, and endurance training programs (gym and field-based) with appropriate testing
– Experience working across various sports in performance or gym settings
– A Blue Card, First Aid & CPR certifications, and a Level 1 ASCA qualification (or equivalent)
– Strong knowledge of strength, power, and endurance training, both gym and field-based
– Ability to analyse sport-specific conditioning needs for athletes and teams
– Proficiency with PC applications and excellent communication skills
– Initiative and the ability to work independently while delivering excellent customer service
– Experience with Teambuildr software (preferred but not essential)
