About the Opportunity
We’re currently seeking a dynamic and proactive Warehouse Assistant to join our Retail Department. As the Warehouse Assistant, you’ll play a pivotal role in managing inventory, ensuring the quality of goods, and maintaining a high level of customer service.
In this role you will:
- Thoroughly inspect incoming goods to verify accuracy in products and quantities.
- Ensuring the quality of delivered products meets UQ Sport standards.
- Distribute products to various UQ Sport food and beverage outlets. Manual Handling requirements apply between 0.5 – 20kgs.
- Fostering a positive reputation for UQ Sport in the wider community.
To be successful in this role you will:
- Hold a valid Class C driver’s license.
- Be physically fit and capable of manual handling tasks with adherence to safe work practices

ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY
Our Aquatic Centre is expanding its crew of lifeguards. We’re looking for an energetic and safety conscious lifeguard for various shifts 6 or more hours per week as required that cover from opening at 4am through to centre close at 9pm, to supervise our customers and ensure their safety at all times whilst using our Aquatic Centre.
In this role you will:
- Supervise all users of the Aquatic Centre ensuring high standards for safety and presentation
- Opening/closing and preparing the venue for use
- Be responsible for effectively and promptly responding to emergency situations
- Conduct rostered pool and water quality tests to ensure full compliance with health and safety standards and/or regulations
To be successful in this role you will have:
- High work ethic, commitment to professional presentation and the ability to maintain an appropriate level of fitness throughout employment.
- Previous experience as a lifeguard is highly regarded
- Pool Lifeguard Certificate
- Blue Card
- First Aid & CPR Certificates
- Advanced Resuscitation qualification (desired)

As a Facilities Officer, you’ll be responsible for conducting reactive and preventative maintenance tasks across our diverse range of university fitness facilities, ensuring they remain safe, clean, and maintained to the highest standards.
You are self motivated to work autonomously under direction of the Facility Supervisor within the guidelines set by UQ Sport and the University. You thrive in a small team environment, value workplace safety, and are committed to delivering exceptional service.
In this role you will:
- Perform reactive maintenance tasks in a timely and professional manner.
- Conduct preventative maintenance activities, including cleaning and periodic inspections.
- Provide technical advice on maintenance and equipment management.
- Assist in event set-up and pack down for smooth logistics during events.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure facility maintenance needs are met.
To be successful in the role you will have:
- Proven experience in a trade or maintenance team.
- Familiarity with work order systems and reporting.
- Ability to work autonomously within a small team.
- Excellent communication skills and interpersonal abilities.
- A Class C Driver’s License.

ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY
UQ Sport is looking for a confident, reliable, and passionate Facilities Coordinator to join our Facilities team based at UQ St Lucia Campus. Your exceptional operational management skills and ability to build relationships with UQ Sport clients will help ensure that all UQ Sport facilities maintain high standards of cleanliness, safety, and operational efficiency.
In this role you will:
- Foster a positive, accountable, and successful culture within the Facilities team.
- Oversee daily operations of maintenance and cleaning services and track and manage both reactive and preventative maintenance tasks.
- Lead the team in setting up and packing down equipment for events.
- Handle purchasing of supplies within budget limits; monitor utility usage and ensure accurate billing; and, process facilities-related invoices.
- Review and advise on service contracts.
- Ensure health and safety compliance.
- Work with other managers to minimize disruption during changes.
- Build strong relationships with UQ Property and external service providers.
To be successful in the role you will:
- Have a Class C Driver’s License.
- Possess a trade qualification or related trade-based experience.
- Have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar position.
- Demonstrate high-level operational knowledge of facilities and plant for a sporting organization.
- Have proven risk management experience and sound knowledge of WH&S.
- Possess excellent planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Be proficient in Microsoft Suite and FM Software.
- Exhibit high-level interpersonal and negotiation skills.
- Demonstrate personal initiative and the ability to work autonomously.
- Have the ability to delegate work, lead, and motivate a team.
- Be able to work towards agreed goals and contribute positively as a team member.
