What are the Fitness Centre's opening hours?
When is peak time at the Fitness Centre?

Between 3-8pm, Monday to Friday, is when the Fitness Centre tends to be at its busiest.

What do I need to bring when I come to the Fitness Centre?

A drink bottle, towel, correct footwear (enclosed shoes), appropriate gym attire, and your access card.

What etiquette do I need to follow at the Fitness Centre?

Please ensure that enclosed footwear is worn in the UQ Sport Fitness Centre at all times. Bring a towel to each class, and for use on all gym equipment. For hygiene purposes, please clean and wipe down equipment after use with the cleaning products provided.

Where can I put my bag at the Fitness Centre? Do you have lockers for hire?

There are a number of cubbyholes available within the Weights & Cardio Gym, where you may leave your bag.

Temporary lockers, located near the entrance to the Weights & Cardio Gym, are available to hire, as well as in the men’s and women’s change rooms. These lockers require a $2 coin per use.

There are also lockers located in both the male and female changing rooms available for more permanent hire.

Please see reception staff to hire any of the above mentioned locker options.

Will there be Trainers in the Gym if I need any help?

Yes! There is always a qualified exercise professional with either an Exercise Physiology degree or Certificate III in Fitness (minimum) in the Gym to assist you.

Do I get a Gym induction or program with my Membership?

An induction is not required once you purchase your Membership, however, please see one of our Trainers if you require assistance using our equipment correctly and safely.

Don’t forget – Gold and Gym / Cardio Members are also entitled to a complimentary 45-minute Fitness Consultation every six (6) weeks. To book-in, see our reception team.

How do I check-in for a Group Fitness class?

If you’re a Gold Member, you’ll need to check-in for a Group Fitness class via our My Account portal. Once you’re logged-in to My Account, click on the ‘Group Fitness’ tab, and select your preferred class and session time. After you’ve secured a place, an electronic entry ticket will be generated. Simply present your e-ticket, via your smartphone, on arrival at the Fitness Centre.

Non-Members can also participate by purchasing a Casual Group Fitness Pass. Please note, online Group Fitness bookings, via My Account, are only available to Members. Pass holders will only be permitted to participate if there is space available in their preferred session.

Is there a lockout time if I’m late for a Group Fitness class?

After the class has started, you may not be allowed to enter. Always aim to be 10 minutes early to allow for any extra warm-ups needed.

How do I book Squash or Badminton Courts?

Squash and Badminton Courts can be booked online via our My Account portal, or by contacting the Fitness Centre reception team.

How do I book a space in the Sports Hall or Martial Arts Gym?

Please contact the Fitness Centre reception team by phone or in-venue.

If I have a Membership, do I need to book to use the Sports Hall or Martial Arts Gym even if they are not in use?

Yes, all bookable facilities within UQ Sport incur an additional cost, even if you have a current Membership. Please contact the Fitness Centre reception team for details on bookings.

How far in advance do I need to book Squash?

For bookings during peak times (after 5pm), you may need to book well in advance. During off-peak times (before 5pm), you may find a court available for the same day. Courts can be booked online via our My Account portal, or by contacting the Fitness Centre reception desk. Please note, Squash Court bookings cannot be made more than two (2) weeks in advance.
