COVID-19 vaccination requirements to attend UQ campuses, sites and facilities

              (UPDATED: 2:00pm, Thursday 21 April 2022)

After considering current risk assessments, advice from health experts, feedback from UQ staff and students, and the lifting of government restrictions, The University of Queensland has decided to suspend the vaccination requirement to attend UQ locations from Tuesday 3 May 2022.

This means from Tuesday 3 May 2022, UQ Sport customers and visitors are not required to be vaccinated against Covid-19.

It remains important that we each take responsibility for keeping ourselves and others safe by:

              • Keeping our vaccinations up to date and getting our COVID-19 booster and flu vaccination when due
              • Staying at home if we are feeling unwell
              • Remaining 1.5 metres apart to the extent possible
              • Wearing a face mask when we can’t physically distance
              • Washing our hands often using soap and water or hand sanitiser

For more details regarding the suspension, please visit the UQ website.

              ———————————

The below requirements are still valid until 3 May 2022.

From Monday 14 February 2022, The University of Queensland has implemented COVID-19 vaccine requirements for persons attending UQ campuses, sites and facilities.

The below requirements apply to UQ Sport customers, contractors, volunteers, tenants, and affiliated club members and guests at UQ’s St Lucia and Gatton campuses.

Incidental visitors are not required to be vaccinated. Incidental visitors are defined as a visitor to a UQ and/or UQ Sport location who poses little risk to UQ Sport’s staff and customers as they have limited-to-no interaction with them.

Incidental visitors include, but are not limited to:

              • users of playground equipment

If an incidental visitor ventures on to the broader campus, they could be asked to provide proof of vaccination. UQ Sport recommends for incidental visitors to arrive and depart their activity in a timely manner.

From Monday 14 February 2022, some member accounts will be disabled until such time as the Member provides evidence of vaccination to a UQ Sport staff member at an applicable venue. The following criteria will determine if your member account is disabled:

If you are unable to continue using your Membership due to the vaccination requirement, please contact UQ Sport to discuss your options. These include suspension until such time that you are double vaccinated, switching to an alternate outdoor membership, or cancellation of your membership.

Any person at a UQ Sport location may be asked to show evidence of vaccination, or a valid exemption (see ‘Vaccination Exemption’ tab for more details) and will be asked to leave the location if they refuse or are unable to provide such evidence.
