Current disruptions

UQ Sport Fitness Centre Upgrades

(UPDATED: 3pm, Friday 15 November)

From 6am Thursday 21 November to 4pm Saturday 23 November, the UQ Sport Fitness Centre entrance on Union Road will be closed for a number of upgrades, including new flooring, glass panels and louvers.

New lights will also be installed in the Squash Courts (level 3), as well as the Academy, Personal Training and Platform Gyms (level 1).

Union Road Entrance

During the works, a temporary entrance will be available via the Fitness Studio on Union Road.

Patrons requiring ramp access should use the Fitness Centre entrance opposite Building 31A (view Accessibility Map).

Light Installation

Entry and bookings will not be permitted at the following times to allow for lights to be installed:

  • Squash Courts (5:30am – 9pm, Thursday)
  • Personal Training Gym (12pm Thursday – 4pm Saturday)
  • Platform Gym (12pm Thursday – 4pm Saturday)
  • Academy Gym (5:30am Friday – 4pm Saturday)

Group Fitness Classes

Group Fitness classes scheduled in the Fitness Studio will run in the Sports Hall, or the adjacent Connell Gym (Building 26). You will still need to check-in via the terminals in the Fitness Centre prior to joining the following classes:

Thursday 21 November

  • Boot Camp (7am – Sports Hall)
  • BODYPUMP® (12pm – Sports Hall)
  • BODYATTACK® (5:30pm – Sports Hall)
  • Align & Flow (6:30pm – Connell Gym)

Friday 22 November

  • BODYATTACK® (8am – Sports Hall)
  • Gentle Yoga (10am – Sports Hall)
  • GRIT STRENGTH® (12pm – Sports Hall)
  • Vinyasa Yoga (12:30pm – Sports Hall)
  • BODYPUMP® (4:30pm – Sports Hall)
  • Zumba® (5:30pm – Sports Hall)

Saturday 23 November

  • Flow Hatha (8:30am – Connell Gym)

Small Group Training

Small Group Training sessions scheduled in the Personal Training Gym will be held in the Weights & Cardio Gym. Please check-in with reception staff at the Fitness Centre prior to joining the following sessions:

Thursday 21 November

  • Female Lift (4pm)
  • Metcon (6pm)

Friday 22 November

  • Metcon (12pm)
