Elite Athlete Program Officer – St Lucia 

About this Opportunity

The Elite Athlete Program Officers are responsible for the coordination and delivery of the Elite Athlete Program. They are the primary contact for all UQ student elite athletes and sporting scholarship holders and involves the coordination of all student elite athlete communication; academic liaison; coordinating the annual scholarship process and other funding programs; and linking with various UQ student services to provide exceptional support to enhance the student elite athlete experience.

We currently have a vacancy in our Elite Athlete Program Officer team. Reporting to the Campus Engagement Manager, this is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to further develop their career in supporting student elite athletes. You will be a champion in building engaging and trusted relationships, communication, and time management.

In this role you will:
  • Coordinates the Elite Athlete and Sporting Scholarship programs

  • Provides general and individualised advice to student elite athletes to support their academic and sporting ambitions

  • Acts as the primary contact for student athletes, maintaining effective channels of communications and prioritising sensitive matters with a confidential approach

  • Develops and maintains administrative systems, procedures, and records management to ensure compliance with policies and procedures

To be successful in the role you will: 
  • Tertiary qualifications in sports administration/management/education/psychology or related area

  • Prior experience in a similar position with demonstrated knowledge of university sport and funding programs and Elite Sport Education Network guiding principles. 

  • First aid and CPR Certification 

  • Mental Health First Aid Certification

  • Blue card

Customer Service Officer – Tennis

As a Customer Service Officer, you’ll be the friendly face of the venue, assisting customers, managing bookings and sales, maintaining facilities, and supporting the day-to-day operations that keep the centre running smoothly.

Lifeguard/Customer Service Officer – Gatton

Join the UQ Sport Gatton team as a Lifeguard & Customer Service Officer and play a key role in creating a safe, welcoming, and enjoyable environment for all visitors.

In this dynamic position, you’ll be responsible for supervising swimming activities, enforcing safety standards, and responding calmly and effectively in emergencies. You’ll also be the friendly face of the Centre, providing exceptional customer service, promoting UQ Sport’s programs, and supporting day-to-day operations.

This role is perfect for someone who thrives in an active, team-oriented environment, enjoys working with people, and wants to make a real impact on the health, safety, and experience of our community.

In this role you will:
  • Provide reception and sales services to UQ Sport customers
  • Ensure consistently high standards of customer service and safety

Sports Official – Gatton

In this role, you will ensure matches are conducted safely and professionally in line with the rules and regulations of the sport. Working closely with the Venue Supervisor, you will assist in delivering scheduled competitions, uphold the integrity of each game, and contribute to a positive experience for all participants.

We’re looking for passionate Netball, Basketball, Beach Volleyball, Futsal Referees/Umpires and Convenors available on weekends and evenings to join the UQ Sport team! 

Ideally you will have a recognised officiating badge. 

Convenors require first aid and CPR qualifications – hourly rate ranges depending on weekday/weekend work from $37.69 – $39.20/hour + Super (12%).

UQ Sport is looking for a passionate, energetic, and certified Personal Trainer to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to work with diverse client base and contribute to a culture that values health, community, and continuous improvement. You will be part of a supportive and collaborative team, where you can exchange ideas to develop a training program that meet the need of your respective clients.

Additionally, there maybe an opportunity to take on a dual role as a Group Fitness Instructor (S&C, HIIT, Boxing), should you posses the relevant qualifications.

To be successful in the role you will have:  
  • Certificate IV in fitness or equivalent

  • First aid and CPR certification

  • Ideally 2 years experiences in a similar role

  • Demonstrated ability to create an engaging and positive environment with clients and customers

About this Opportunity

We’re looking for multiple friendly and enthusiastic Food and Beverage Attendants to work a variety of events and support service at the UQ Sport managed Cafes. 

If you are passionate about providing exceptional levels of customer service and have previous canteen, barista, bar and events setup/pack down experience we want to hear from you. 

In this role you will:
  • Assist with event setup and pack down

  • Assist with opening and closing of facilities

  • Provide food, beverage and coffee production services

  • Venue and facility cleaning and ensuring excellent presentation

  • Undertaking general customer service duties

  • RSA Certification

We’re currently seeking a dynamic and proactive Warehouse Assistant to join our F&B Department. As the Warehouse Assistant, you’ll play a pivotal role in managing inventory, ensuring the quality of goods, and maintaining a high level of customer service.

In this role you will:
  • Thoroughly inspect incoming goods to verify accuracy in products and quantities.

  • Ensuring the quality of delivered products meets UQ Sport standards.

  • Distribute products to various UQ Sport food and beverage outlets. Manual Handling requirements apply between 0.5 – 20kgs.

  • Fostering a positive reputation for UQ Sport in the wider community.

To be successful in the role you will: 
  • Hold a valid Class C driver’s license.

  • Be physically fit and capable of manual handling tasks with adherence to safe work practices

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • A strong commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.

  • Exceptional time management skills.

  • Self-motivation and the ability to work autonomously.
