Strength & Conditioning Coaches

About this opportunity
We are looking for energetic Strength and Conditioning Coaches to help clients enhance their overall fitness and develop specific skills or improve sports performance. You need strong communication skills and the ability to understand the unique needs of each client. A passion for Strength and Conditioning is essential, along with the ability to inspire and push athletes beyond their current limits. Adaptability and quick thinking to adjust sessions on the fly are key to success.
In this role, you will:
– Coordinate and deliver S&C sessions for clients of all ages and skill levels
– Design strength, power, and endurance training programs (gym and field-based) with appropriate testing
To be successful, you will need:
– Demonstrated experience working with various sporting disciplines, in performance/gym training environments
– Requires a current Blue Card, First Aid and CPR and a minimum ASCA Level 1 qualification
– Excellent knowledge of strength, power, and endurance-based training, including gym and field-based programs
– Demonstrated ability to analyse sport-specific strength and conditioning requirements for athletes and teams
– Proficiency in PC applications and strong written and verbal communication skills
– Self-initiative and the ability to work autonomously while maintaining a commitment to customer service excellence
– Teambuildr software experience (desirable but not essential)

Facilities Officer

About this opportunity

Are you a skilled tradesperson or handyman looking for to work in a small dynamic team?

As a Facilities Officer, you’ll be responsible for conducting reactive and preventative maintenance tasks across our diverse range of university fitness facilities, ensuring they remain safe, clean, and maintained to the highest standards.

You are self motivated to work autonomously under direction of the Facility Supervisor within the guidelines set by UQ Sport and the University of Queensland. You thrive in a small team environment, value workplace safety, and are committed to delivering exceptional service.

You will be working a streamlined 35-hour workweek with occasional weekend work and flexible arrangements tailored to your lifestyle.

In this role, you will:

– Perform reactive maintenance tasks in a timely and professional manner.
– Conduct preventative maintenance activities, including cleaning and periodic inspections.
– Provide technical advice on maintenance and equipment management.
– Assist in event set-up and pack down for smooth logistics during events.
– Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure facility maintenance needs are met.

To be successful, you will need:

– Proven experience in a trade or maintenance team.
– Familiarity with work order systems and reporting.
– Ability to work autonomously within a small team.
– Excellent communication skills and interpersonal abilities.
– A Class C Driver’s License.

Shift Supervisor - Tennis

About this opportunity

We’re looking for a Shift Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day operations at the UQ Sport Tennis Centre on Monday to Friday morning shift roster. This role will be responsible to ensure exceptional customer service, seamless venue presentation, and effective staff management. As well as, maintaining a positive, organised, and efficient environment at the Tennis Centre.

We’re seeking someone with strong leadership skills, a passion for customer service, and the ability to work proactively within a team environment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate initiative, strong communication abilities, and a commitment to fostering a positive work culture.

To succeed in this role, you will need to lead by example, engage and motivate your team, and take ownership of daily operations while ensuring health and safety standards are consistently upheld.

In this role, you will:
  • Provide exceptional customer service, resolve complaints, and assist with bookings and enquiries.
  • Racquet Stringing services.
  • Manage venue operations, including setting up and packing equipment, maintaining a tidy environment, and ensuring a professional presentation
  • Lead staff in tasks such as scheduling, rostering, and providing training.
  • Ensure facility usage compliance, identify hazards, and manage incidents.
  • Assist with stock management and ensure adequate resourcing for events and daily operations.
To be successful, you will need:
  • First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Blue Card certification.
  • At least 12 months’ experience in a retail or customer service environment.
  • Tennis racquet stringing experienced would be highly regarded
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to delegate tasks and engage a team.
  • Proven cash handling experience and familiarity with Point of Sale systems.
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to perform manual handling tasks, including lifting up to 15kg.
  • A passion for continuous learning and improving customer experiences.

Food and Beverage Attendant (casual)

We’re looking for multiple friendly and enthusiastic Food and Beverage Attendants to work a variety of events and support service at the UQ Sport managed Cafe – BrewPoint.

If you are passionate about providing exceptional levels of customer service and have previous canteen, barista, bar and events setup/packdown experience we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:

– Assist with event setup and packdown
– Assist with opening and closing of facilities
– Provide food, beverage and coffee production services
– Venue and facility cleaning and ensuring excellent presentation
– Undertaking general customer service duties

What you’ll need:

– RSA Certification
– Food Safety Certification (desirable)
– First Aid and CPR Certificates

Customer Service Officer - Fitness Centre

About this opportunity

UQ Sport is seeking applications from an enthusiastic Customer Service Officer to work within our busy Fitness Centre based at the University of Queensland.
This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone who is highly motivated, outgoing and energetic with excellent communication skills.

In this role you will:

– Responsible for fitness centre opening procedures, plus presentation and cleaning of the venue and facilities
– Answering phones, emails and in person customer enquiries and providing information about UQ Sport products, memberships and services
– Point of sale duties for the shop including cash handling
– Selling and restocking retail products
– Equipment setup and pack down as required
– Assisting with some basic administration duties

To be successful in this role you will have:

– First Aid Certificate
– CPR Certificate
– Previous experience in Customer Service environment desirable
– Computer literate – previous experience with membership sales/cash handling/POS systems highly regarded

– 12 months’ previous experience in a customer-facing role preferably in an aquatic centre environment.

Learn to Swim Instructor (casual)

– Demonstrated experience in delivering Learn-to-Swim lessons.
– AUSTSWIM Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety certificate or equivalent.
– Blue Card.
