Systems and Infrastructure Administrator

About this Opportunity

Own the IT environment behind one of Australia’s leading university sporting organisations. As Systems and Infrastructure Administrator, you’ll take full ownership of day-to-day operations across cloud and on-prem environments keeping systems secure, reliable and performing at their best.

This is a highly autonomous role with real variety. You’ll work across infrastructure, cyber security and end-user support, solving real problems and continuously improving how technology supports staff and users.

If you enjoy hands-on ownership, thrive on variety, and like the idea of working in an active, sport-focused environment, this is a role where you can make a genuine impact.

In this role you will:
  • Own and manage day-to-day IT operations across cloud and on-prem environments
  • Deliver end-to-end technical support (Tier 1–3), resolving issues efficiently across the organisation
  • Administer and optimise Windows Server, Azure and Microsoft 365 environments
  • Support cyber security, compliance and risk mitigation initiatives
  • Identify and drive improvements to systems, processes and performance

 

Note: Occasional after-hours work (a few days per month) may be required, with time off in lieu or allowance provided.

About you: 
  • 3 years’ experience in a hands-on systems and/or infrastructure role
  • Strong capability across Windows Server, Microsoft 365 and Azure
  • Experience supporting users across varying technical levels
  • Solid understanding of networking and infrastructure fundamentals
  • Self-sufficient, proactive and able to troubleshoot independently
  • Organised with a solutions-focused mindset
  • Motivated by continuous improvement and learning

Student Sport Inclusion and Pathways Coordinator

About this Opportunity

A great opportunity has opened up for a Student Sport Inclusion & Pathways Coordinator, where you’ll help shape how students connect through sport. You’ll deliver dynamic social sport and inter-college programs, support student representative sport pathways, and drive initiatives that make participation more accessible and inclusive.

Working closely with another Coordinator and a casual workforce, you’ll create meaningful, engaging experiences in a fast-paced environment from coordinating competitions to mentoring student leaders and supporting new program development.

In this role you will:
  • Lead the delivery of vibrant social sport competitions and inter-college programs, from planning through to game day

  • Coordinate representative sport opportunities, including team administration, coordination and inter-varsity participation

  • Recruit, roster and support a dynamic network of casual staff, volunteers and student leaders

  • Champion participation by driving initiatives that remove barriers and connect diverse student communities

  • Build strong, trusted relationships with colleges, student groups and key stakeholders across the University

  • Contribute to the growth of new and exciting sport programs that enhance the student experience

About you: 

You’re someone who thrives in a people-focused, fast-moving environment and enjoys balancing planning with on-the-ground delivery.

  • Experience coordinating sport, recreation or student engagement programs

  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities

Group Fitness and Program Manager

Join UQ Sport and take the lead in delivering high-impact fitness and performance programs within a dynamic, university sport environment. This hands-on Group Fitness & Program Manager role blends team management, program innovation, and athlete development offering the opportunity to shape exceptional fitness experiences.

Be part of an exciting growth phase at UQ Sport, with the opportunity to work in our brand-new $100M sporting precinct, currently under construction and set to open in September 2027, featuring state-of-the-art facilities.

In this role you will:
  • Lead and enhance Group Fitness, Strength & Conditioning, and Personal Training programs to maximise participation and engagement.

  • Oversee daily operations, including rostering, workforce planning, and service delivery standards across all fitness offerings.

  • Drive program quality and continuous improvement through performance analysis, auditing, and instructor/coach development.

  • Manage key stakeholder relationships, supporting athlete, community, and external performance partnerships.

  • Support athlete development through fitness assessments, performance testing, and high-performance program delivery.

About you: 

You are an experienced fitness industry professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and enjoys leading people, improving programs and delivering exceptional customer experiences.

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

  • Certificate IV in Fitness (essential), with tertiary qualifications in Exercise Science, Human Movement, Sport Science or a related field highly regarded.

  • Proven experience leading or coordinating fitness, strength & conditioning, or performance-based programs.

  • Strong expertise across group fitness, personal training, and strength & conditioning principles.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and develop fitness professionals.

  • Highly organised, with the ability to manage competing priorities and multiple stakeholders.

  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with a strong focus on customer experience.

Shift Supervisor, Tennis

About this Opportunity

We’re on the lookout for a motivated and hands-on Shift Supervisor for Tennis to lead the operations at the UQ Sport Tennis Centre. This is a dynamic, customer-facing role where no two days are the same from opening the venue and preparing for a busy day ahead, to supporting customers, managing bookings, and keeping everything running smoothly. 

Working Monday to Friday (early start, early finish), you’ll play a key role in delivering a high-quality experience for our community while leading by example on the floor. 

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys a mix of customer service, retail, event delivery, racquet servicing, and operational leadership, and thrives in a fast-paced, team-focused environment. 

In this role you will:
  • Lead the day-to-day morning operations, ensuring the venue is open, set up, and ready for a 7am start 

  • Deliver outstanding customer service, assisting with bookings, enquiries, and resolving issues  

  • Oversee retail activities, including sales, stock control, and contributing to product selection  

  • Provide racquet stringing services (or develop this skill on the job)  

  • Support and guide staff through rostering, on-the-job training, and day-to-day leadership  

  • Ensure the facility is clean, safe, well-presented, and operating efficiently at all times  

  • Manage equipment set-up and pack-down for daily use and larger bookings or events 

  •  
About you: 
  • First Aid and CPR certification 

  • Blue Card certification 

  • At least 12 months’ experience in a retail or customer service environment. 

  • Tennis racquet stringing experience would be highly regarded 

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to delegate tasks and engage a team 

  •   Familiarity with Point of Sale and customer management systems 

  • Excellent communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills 

  • Ability to perform manual handling tasks, including lifting up to 15kg 

  • A passion for continuous learning and improving customer experiences

Food and Beverage Attendant – St Lucia 

About this Opportunity

We’re looking for multiple friendly and enthusiastic Food and Beverage Attendants to work a variety of events and support service at the UQ Sport managed Cafes. 

If you are passionate about providing exceptional levels of customer service and have previous canteen, barista, bar and events setup/pack down experience we want to hear from you. 

In this role you will:
  • Assist with event setup and pack down

  • Assist with opening and closing of facilities

  • Provide food, beverage and coffee production services

  • Venue and facility cleaning and ensuring excellent presentation

  • Undertaking general customer service duties 

To be successful in the role you will: 
  • RSA Certification

  • Food Safety Certification

  • First Aid and CPR Certificates
