Represent UQ at UniSport Nationals and go head-to-head against student-athletes from 43 universities across Australia!
Launched in 2018, the UniSport Nationals are national-standard sporting competitions comprised of two flagship events – Nationals Div 1 and 2 – as well as a number of standalone Championship events, including Nationals Athletics, Distance Running, League of Legends, Snow, Swimming, T20 Cricket, Triathlon and 3×3 Basketball events.
Results from all Nationals events are tallied to crown an overall champion university. In 2018, The University of Queensland won the inaugural UniSport Nationals Div 1 Championship, following up with a second place finish in 2019 and third overall in 2023.
UniSport Div 1 & 2 Nationals will be held in Canberra, ACT (Ngunnawal), from 7 September 2024. UniSport National Championship events are held at a variety of locations throughout the year.

In 2024, athletics will be held in the Gold Coast, Queensland (Yugambeh) at the Gold Coast Performance Centre from 24-26 April and will be contested in both men’s and women’s competitions. Multi-class events will also be offered in the competition.

In 2024, 3×3 basketball will be held in the Sunshine Coast, Queensland (Kabi Kabi/Gubbi Gubbi) University of the Sunshine Coast from 2-4 July and will be contested in both men’s and women’s competitions. Each university is eligible to nominate one male and one female team into the competition.

In 2024, distance running will be held in Sydney, New South Wales (Gadigal) in conjunction with the Sydney Marathon, September across the half marathon and marathon distances and will be contested in both men’s and women’s competitions.
Participants wishing to contest this event need to register through Sydney Marathon website electing the UniSport Nationals Distance Running Championships check box as part of the registration process.
UniSport Nationals will be held in Canberra, ACT (Ngunnawal), from 7 September to 13 September 2024.
The UniSport flagship event takes place annually in September with attendance by over 6,000 student-athletes and participants from across Australia who take part in a week of sporting competition over 30 different sports.

National Indigenous Tertiary Education Student Games (NITESG) began in 1996 as a joint class project between 13 students enrolled in a Diploma of Aboriginal Studies (Community Recreation) at the then Wollotuka School for Aboriginal Studies, The University of Newcastle.
Now referred to Indigenous Nationals, the event is a week-long multisport competition for indigenous student-athletes. The annual event aims to bring together student-athletes from universities across Australia to compete in a variety of sports and ultimately crown one university team the champion of the games. Indigenous Nationals is an amazing environment to not only celebrate the rich sporting culture of indigenous Australia but to also acknowledge the heritage and history of the participating student-athletes.
The 27th Indigenous Nationals organising committee respectfully acknowledges the Dharawal Nation, the traditional owners of the land which the event will take place.
Indigenous Nationals is open to both staff and currently enrolled students of UniSport Australia (UniSport) member universities.
In maintaining the integrity of the Indigenous Nationals as an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander event and in keeping with the rules of engagement, confirmation of Aboriginality is required by each player participating in the competition.

In 2024, surfing will be held as part of the Nationals Div 1 & 2 event on the Alexandra Headland Beach, Queensland (Kabi Kabi/Gubbi Gubbi) from 10-12 July. Men’s, women’s and mixed competitions will be contested in shortboard, longboard and bodyboard disciplines.

In 2024, swimming will be held in Sydney (Wangal) as part of the 2024 Sydney Open Championships from 9-11 May at Sydney Olympic Park and will be contested in both men’s and women’s competitions. Multi-class events will also be offered in the competition.
In 2024, triathlon with be held as part of the Mooloolaba Triathlon Series, Sunshine Coast, QLD (Kabi Kabi/Gubbi Gubbi), on 9-10 March in both men’s and women’s sprint and standard (Olympic) distance races.
Participants wishing to contest this event need to register through Mooloolaba Triathlon Series website, selecting the UniSport Nationals Triathlon Championships check box as part of the registration process.
In 2024, the T20 cricket will be held in 8-12 July, Maroochydore Cricket Club, Sunshine Coast, QLD (Kabi Kabi/Gubbi Gubbi), men’s and women’s competitions being contested. Timelines will be released as soon as they are confirmed.
