This section looks at how to build an inclusive club that is not tolerant of harassment in all its forms, ensures that it is able to protect the safety of any children involved in club activities and has processes in place to deal fairly and sincerely with complaints, as well as any disciplinary actions that may arise out of those complaints.
Diversity, equity and inclusion
The best way for your club to flourish is to ensure that it is inclusive and welcoming to all members and prospective members, no matter their age, how they identify and their ability. This section will provide simple guidelines to help your club with this process.
Child protection
In Queensland, anyone under the age of 18 is a child. If your club deals with children in any capacity, such as as participants, volunteers or members, you must have structures in place to protect them from harm.
Complaints and member protection
In the event of a complaint being made against your club or one of its members, or if you need to make a complaint yourself, UQ Sport has systems in place that will help ensure that these complaints are resolved to both party’s satisfaction. This section will set those systems out and provide examples to help you develop your own policies and procedures.
Complaints and member protection
All clubs use social media to communicate with their members and stakeholders, but not all clubs will have a plan to maximise reach and connection with their audiences. In this section we’ll look at strategy, policies and actions that will help your club get the most from your social media platforms and activities.
