We’re serving up FREE group fitness classes, venue access, social sport, and short courses, across our Gatton and St Lucia campuses. Check out the timetable below, and find an activity that takes your fancy. Simply sign in at the UQ Sport Fitness Centre, or the relevant venue, before taking part.

Sprint to the UQ Sport PlayZone on Market Day to bust into the sumo wrestling ring, have a ball with bubble soccer and score FREE PERKii Probiotics! There’ll be freebies up for grabs, competitions to enter and prizes to be won.

St Lucia

Tango (60 mins)

Succumb to Tango – the most charming, sophisticated and sensual dance in the broad spectrum of partner dancing!

Come for a one-hour Tango crash course on Monday at 8pm, and be sure to dress in unrestrictive clothing, and flat-soled shoes.

Hip Hop (60 mins)

If you love to dance, and you dig Hip Hop music, you won’t want to miss this session!

Head to the UQ Sport Fitness Centre on Tuesday at 4:30pm and experience all the different styles of Hip Hop – from poppin' and lockin' to glidin' and krumpin'!

Wear comfortable, unrestrictive clothing. Check-in with staff at the UQ Sport Fitness Centre reception desk to secure your place.

Boxing for Fitness (60 mins)

Pound the pads with Boxing for Fitness – a workout guaranteed to boost your strength and cardio fitness!

Take part in a 60 minute sweat feast at 7am on Wednesday.

Spaces are limited, so check-in with staff at the UQ Sport Fitness Centre reception desk.

Belly Dancing (60 mins)

Shake your hips and feel the flow with an introductory Belly Dancing class at 6:30pm on Wednesday!

Cool, comfortable clothing that doesn’t restrict movements is best, and baring the midriff is not necessary unless you’re comfortable wearing a crop-top.

Elastic waist or wrap around skirts, sarongs, harem pants, hipsters, bike pants, and leggings are ideal. No shoes are required, but feel free to bring a scarf or jingly belt to accentuate hip movement!

POUND® (60 mins)

Sweat, sculpt & rock with POUND® - the fastest-growing group fitness phenomenon, inspired by the sweat-dripping, infectious, energising fun of drumming! 

Join in a one hour class at 6:30pm on Friday. Sign-in at the UQ Sport Fitness Centre reception desk.

BODY PUMP® (60 mins)

Les Mills’ BODYPUMP® is a group barbell program that challenges every major muscle in your body for great toning and firming!

Work up a sweat on Tuesday at 1pm, or Thursday at 12pm. See staff at the UQ Sport Fitness Centre to take part.

Pilates (60 mins)

Develop a great physique and strong core stabilising muscles with Pilates – a workout that goes to work on your butt, thighs and abs.

Take part at 10am on Tuesday. Sign-up with reception staff at the UQ Sport Fitness Centre.

Tone with Todd (45 mins)

A great way to tone, firm and tighten all parts of the body, this class consists of cardio and body weight exercises to work your legs, arms and core. 

Join in a workout at 5:30pm on Thursday.

Bands (30 mins)

Bands is an intense, fast-paced workout that uses resistance tubes and body weight exercises to tone your butt, legs and back. 

Spaces are limited for the 12pm class on Monday, so be sure to check-in with staff at the UQ Sport Fitness Centre.

BODYCOMBAT® (60 mins)

Les Mills’ BODYCOMBAT® is the empowering cardio workout where you are totally unleashed!

This fiercely energetic program is inspired by martial arts, and draws from a wide array of disciplines, such as karate, boxing, tae kwon do, and tai chi.

Sweat it out at 4:30pm on Monday. Spaces are limited; sign-in with staff at the UQ Sport Fitness Centre.

ABT Dynamo (45 mins)

An intense and dynamic workout, ABT Dynamo helps create a washboard stomach, buns of steel and shapely legs!

Suitable for all skill levels, this class focuses on those really hard-to-tone areas.

Join in at 5:30pm on Monday, or 12pm on Friday. Spaces are limited, so check-in with staff at the UQ Sport Fitness Centre reception desk.

BODYATTACK® (60 mins)

Les Mills’ BODYATTACK® is a high-intensity interval workout with simple athletic moves and advanced strength work.

Designed to burn calories at a fast and furious rate using simple moves, you’ll work up a serious sweat and have fun!

Give it a try at 5:30pm on Tuesday. See staff at the UQ Sport Fitness Centre to secure your place.

BODYBALANCE® (60 mins)

Les Mills’ BODYBALANCE® is the yoga, tai chi and Pilates workout that builds flexibility and strength and leaves you feeling centred and calm.

Chill out and unwind at 1pm on Wednesday. Spaces are limited, so check-in with staff at the UQ Sport Fitness Centre reception desk.

BODYSTEP® (30 mins)

Les Mills’ BODYSTEP® is the energising step workout that makes you feel liberated and alive!

Using a height-adjustable step and simple movements on, over and around it, you'll push fat-burning systems into high gear.

Get your sweat on at the UQ Sport Fitness Centre on Monday at 12:30pm. Space is limited, so check-in with staff at the reception desk to avoid disappointment.

ZUMBA® (60 mins)

Zumba® is a Latin-inspired easy-to-follow, dance-fitness party which stimulates the senses and works all the major muscle groups in a high energy cardio blast that leaves you feeling invigorated, refreshed and full of life!

Give your abs, arms and thighs a workout at 6:30pm on Tuesday. See staff at the UQ Sport Fitness Centre to secure your place.

Free Social Tennis & Cardio Tennis (120 minutes)

Whether you’re a tennis novice or a Roger Federer wannabe, head on over to the UQ Sport Tennis Centre between 5pm and 7pm on Wednesday for some No Strings Attached Social Tennis!

Or try your hand at Cardio Tennis from 6-7pm - an hour-long fitness workout to music that can help women burn up to 500 calories, and as many as 800 calories for men!

Sign-in at the reception desk to secure your place. Racquets are also available to hire.

Free Pool Access

Dive in for a swim at the UQ Sport Aquatic Centre!

Bring your togs and goggles for a swim between 10am and 2pm on Tuesday. Sign-in with reception staff on arrival.

Free Soccer and Touch (60 mins)

Give our Synthetic Fields a test run and try your hand at Soccer and Touch Football!

Held on Thursday between 2.30pm and 3.30pm (head to Field 5 – the one closest to the UQ Sport Aquatic Centre), we’ll serve up 15-minute games – so you’ll get plenty of playing time!

Please note, wearing the correct footwear is essential – you’ll only be allowed on the synthetic turf with flat-soled shoes or joggers. Sorry, no thongs or barefoot play allowed.

Recreational Running (90 mins)

Whether you run for fun or fitness, head to the UQ Athletic Centre for Recreational Running – setting off at 5:30pm on Tuesday and Thursday!

All fitness levels are welcome – just be sure to bring a comfortable pair of joggers.

To take part, check-in with staff at the Athletics Centre canteen.
 

Gatton

Pilates (60 mins)

Develop a great physique and strong core stabilising muscles with Pilates – a workout that goes to work on your butt, thighs and abs.

Take part in a session at 12pm on Monday – simply check-in with staff at the UQ Sport Gatton Fitness and Aquatic Centre.

Boot Camp (60 mins)

Boot Camp is a whole body workout, involving a wide variety of both cardio and strength exercises – from shuttle runs to boxing!

Channel you inner warrior at 6pm on Tuesday. Spaces are limited, so register you interest at the UQ Sport Gatton Fitness and Aquatic Centre.

Body Blitz (60 mins)

Body Blitz is a fast-paced cardio and weights class that is suitable for all fitness levels and abilities!

Give it a try at 4pm on Monday. Sign-in at UQ Sport Gatton Fitness and Aquatic Centre’s reception desk to secure your place.

SwimFit (60 mins)

SwimFit is a program that’ll turn swimming into your weekly workout of choice! Sessions take a different focus each time – legs, sprints, arms, or distance swimming – so you’ll never get bored!

Bring your goggles and togs for a one hour session, starting at 6:15am on Wednesday.

SwimFit is open to all first year residential and off-campus students. Check-in at the UQ Sport Gatton Fitness and Aquatic Centre.
