Brisbane Bronco Patrick Carrigan and Australian swimmer Elizabeth Dekkers have been announced as The University of Queensland’s 2023 Sportsman and Sportswoman of the Year.
45 student-athletes from 17 sports have been awarded a UQ Sporting Scholarship in 2023.
Since 1912, Blues and Half Blues awards have been presented to UQ students in recognition of outstanding sporting achievements, and for enhancing the reputation of university sport. A total of 29 UQ students received awards at the gala event, with 21 Half Blues also bestowed to outstanding athletes.
UQ has won 10 champion pennants at 2019 UniSport Nationals Div 1.
