Succession planning is the process of identifying and developing future management committee (MC) members who will be ready to take on roles as MC members leave or retire. Although often overlooked, when done well succession planning ensures a smooth transition of leadership and maintains institutional knowledge.
It’s a process that works best when commenced at the start of your role, not at the end of your term.
