If your child has any medical conditions – such as asthma, anaphylaxis or epilepsy, or requires any medication to be administered during a program by a UQ Sport staff member – you must ensure a Permission to Administer Medication Form has been completed and submitted. The child’s parent and/or carer must also lodge an Action Plan (a written document stating all required medical actions) to the Program Coordinator prior to commencement of the program.
All staff are First Aid-trained and will initially attend to the injury. If serious, UQ security will be contacted who will immediately send an Advanced Trained Officer, or if necessary, call an ambulance. In all injury cases, parents will be notified ASAP and an incident report will need to be completed.
UQ Sport has a number of policies and procedures in place to ensure your child can participate in a fun and safe environment that fosters growth and learning. These policies include, but are not limited to, sun safety, child protection, programming, staff codes of conduct, First Aid, administration of medication, grievances, emergencies, arrival and departure, and behaviour management.

Parents are welcome to stay and watch during Athletics and Tennis coaching, however, for the safety of the children, we ask that parents identify themselves to their child’s coach at the start of the lesson.
During the UQ Sport Kids Club Holiday program, we allow parents/carers to stay for the first 15 minutes of the program to ensure their child has settled in after arrival.
Unfortunately, we are unable to offer a refund if your child cannot attend a particular session. If you know in advance that your child is unable to attend on a particular day, please get in touch with us.
Coaches regularly evaluate your child’s skills and provide recommendations on when your child is ready to move up to the next level. Most importantly, all staff are committed to making sure every child is getting the most out of the program.
