What are the Tennis Centre's opening hours?
When is peak time at the Tennis Centre?

Peak times are as follows:

  • Monday-Friday: 5pm-9pm
  • Saturday: all day
  • Sunday: 2pm-7pm

What do I need to bring when I come to play tennis?

A drink bottle, towel, correct footwear (enclosed), appropriate tennis attire, and a racquet.

Do you hire tennis racquets?

Yes! Racquets are $6 each to hire for the duration of your booking, and are available at the Tennis Centre Pro Shop.

Can I buy playing equipment at the Tennis Centre?

The Tennis Centre Pro Shop is open for the sale of selected retail items, such as balls, racquets, grip tapes, and apparel. Non-perishable food and drink items, including water, isotonic drinks and confectionary, can also be purchased at the reception desk.

How do I book a tennis court?

Tennis courts can be booked via our My Account portal. Please note, you do not need to be a UQ Sport Member to create a My Account profile. We also accept walk-in bookings but recommend booking in advance online during peak hours.

When can I book a tennis court using my Gold Membership?

Gold members can book one (1) court during off-peak times, at set times throughout the week.

Off-peak times are as follows:

  • Monday-Friday: 7am-5pm
  • Thursday: 9-10pm
  • Sunday: 8am-2pm

Do you have lockers for hire at the Tennis Centre?

Unfortunately, we do not have lockers for hire but there is plenty of space to leave your possessions court-side while you play.

How do I join a coaching program?

We have a range of Kids and Adult coaching programs available to join, with all skill levels catered to! Please contact the UQ Sport Tennis Centre to enrol in group or private coaching program.

I have never played tennis before but I would like to learn. Is there a program I can join?

There definitely is! Most players come to us as complete beginners and either join a Group or Private Coaching program.

What is the difference between the UQ Sport Tennis Centre and the UQ Tennis Club?

The UQ Sport Tennis Centre provides court hire, Kids and Adult coaching programs, and merchandise in the Pro Shop. The UQ Tennis Club, located next to the courts, organises fixtures, social tennis and tournaments.

I have lost property at the Tennis Centre. How can I get it back?

We keep all lost property in storage so please contact us, or visit the Tennis Centre Pro Shop during opening hours to retrieve you item. Please note, items will be donated or dispose of if left unclaimed.

The use of external ball machines is prohibited by UQ Sport.

Is external coaching allowed on UQ Sport Tennis Courts?

Coaching by anyone other than UQ Sport Tennis staff, without express written permission from UQ Sport management, is prohibited.
