UQ Sport helped deliver a gold standard for an electrifying week of multi-sport action at the 2023 UniSport Nationals hosted at Gold Coast. UQ Sport capitalised on the home-ground advantage this year with the event hosted in Queensland and sent 40 teams across 24 different sports to represent UQ. 

UQ was crowned the champion University in Women’s Judo, Men’s Table Tennis, Mixed Handball, Women’s Surfing and Overall Teams Surfing and Mixed Beach Volleyball.

An honourable mention to our runner-up silver medallists in Women’s Tennis, Men’s and Women’s Hockey, Women’s Badminton, Men’s Volleyball and Mixed Touch Football.

Mechatronics Engineering student Daniel Griffin-Sheridan (Mixed Beach Volleyball) expressed his excitement: “Amazing to get out here to the beautiful weather at Gold Coast. Being stuck indoors studying away can take its toll, and this is so refreshing and just what you need over the mid-semester break.”
