If you’re low on funds after spending your last $20 at the Red Room, you’re going to love our Rec Sport Program – FREE student sport, every Semester!
Try your hand at something different – including Tchoukball and Floorball – or have a crack at familiar favourites like Dodgeball, Soccer, Volleyball and more! Whatever the activity of the day, Rec Sport is not about competition but instead offers a chance to try something different, have fun and meet new people.
Entry is free for students, so just bring your student ID card and check-in with staff before you play. If you’re not a student, come along anyway as it’s just $3 to join in. And get this – every time you participate, you’ll be entered in the draw to WIN* awesome freebies!
The 2019 Rec Sport Schedule will be released two (2) weeks prior to the commencement of Semester 1, 2019.
Free Outdoor Yoga
Looking for a chance to relax and regroup before your week begins? Our relaxing Outdoor Yoga sessions are the ideal activity to unwind and clear your mind!
As part of our FREE Rec Sport offering, Outdoor Yoga runs every Monday morning from 7:45am+ at the at the UQ Sport Synthetic Fields, and is open to all UQ students and staff.
Start your week off the right way – in the morning air with your mind focussed! Plus, you can even grab a coffee or tea on location at BrewPoint when you’re done.

Uniform and Equipment
All sporting equipment for the Rec Sport program is provided by UQ Sport. Players are encouraged to wear comfy sporting wear, and the correct footwear must be worn at all times. Participants should bring a bottle of water and sun protection.
Yoga mats are provided at Free Outdoor Yoga sessions on a first in best dressed basis. It is recommended to bring your own mat, as well as a towel.
